| This year the Town of Franklin Recreation Committee will host a Dedication Day to celebrate the accomplishments made to Kate Mt. Park to date.
This will be the first town-wide function to be held in the new pavilion. Festivities include unveiling of the new park sign designed by Hilary Steidl-Appell of Rainbow Graphics, plus music and games. Noted speakers will reflect on their involvement in the park's plan. Nathaniel Buchanan, who is in charge of the design and construction of a nature trail as an Eagle Scout project, has scheduled a trail walk around the park's perimeter.

Our latest addition to the park is the playground equipment, which was funded by donations, the annual spaghetti supper, candy bar sales, and erected by volunteers. Electricity has been installed in the pavilion and a public telephone has been ordered.
The park committee recognizes that the establishment of the Kate Mt. Park began many years ago. Over the years many townspeople were involved in the park's development. We hope everyone will join us at our July 10, 1999, Park Dedication Day to recognize the planners, volunteers, donors, and supporters who have worked long and hard for this park. We can be proud that our efforts have resulted in the recreational area that will be enjoyed by us today and by the Town of Franklin citizens for generations to come in the new millennium.
