1. CALL TO ORDER

Supervisor Arthur P. Willman, Jr. called the workshop to order at 9:05 AM. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, the Town Clerk called the roll and introduced guests and declared the full board was present.

2. PURPOSE OF WORKSHOP: Supv. Willman stated the purpose of the workshop was to review and discuss the bids received at the March 14th board meeting.

SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

1. CALL TO ORDER

Supv. Willman called the special board meeting to order at 9:11 AM. The Pledge of Allegiance and roll call already having been accomplished.

2. AWARD BID FOR LIGHTING REPLACEMENT. Ampersand Electric submitted the lowest and most comprehensive bid. Motion for resolution (B.Merrill-A.Berg m/s/p) ALL AYE.

RESOLUTION NO. 19: AWARD BID FOR LIGHTING REPLACEMENT AT TOWN HALL AND GARAGE TO AMPERSAND ELECTRIC GARAGE TO AMPERSAND ELECTRIC WHEREAS, a need for lighting replacement at the Town Hall and Town Garage having been established; and WHEREAS, request for prices having been published; and WHEREAS, bids were opened and read aloud at the March 14, 2012 board meeting; and WHEREAS, the Town Board has had the opportunity to review and discuss the bid submissions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, Ampersand Electric, PO Box 1077, Saranac Lake, NY is hereby awarded the bid for replacement lighting.

3. AWARD BID FOR USED MEDIUM ROLLER.

Abele Tractor submitted several prices, and after personal inspection by the Highway Superintendent and Mechanic, it was determined to award the bid to Abele for the 2008 Dynapac for $60,750. Motion for resolution (C.Smalley-D.Hamm m/s/p) ALL AYE.

RESOLUTION NO. 20: AWARD BID FOR USED MEDIUM ASPHALT ROLLER TO ABELE TRACTOR WHEREAS, the need for an asphalt roller having been established by virtue of the fact the Town has been obliged to borrow such equipment, thereby awaiting its availability; and WHEREAS, request for bids having been published; and WHEREAS, bids were opened and read aloud at the March 14, 2012 board meeting; and WHEREAS, the Town Board has reviewed and discussed the bid submissions; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, Abele Tractor, 72 Everett Road, Albany, NY, is awarded the bid for a 2008 Dynapac asphalt roller for $60,750.
BE IT RESOLVED, Ampersand Electric, PO Box 1077, Saranac Lake, NY is hereby awarded the bid for replacement lighting.

4. AWARD BID FOR STANDY GENERATOR.

North Country Electric submitted the most comprehensive bid, and Board consensus opted for its submission of a 14KW propane Generak standby generator with automatic transfer switch for $____________. Motion for resolution (C.Smalley-D.Hamm m/s/p) ALL AYE

RESOLUTION NO. 21: AWARD BID FOR STANDBY GENERATOR TO NORTH COUNTRY ELECTRIC WHEREAS, the Franklin Town Hall has been established as an emergency shelter; and WHEREAS, this area experiences power outages on average of once every 6 weeks; and WHEREAS, request for prices having been published; and WHEREAS, bid submissions were opened and read aloud at the March 14, 2012 board meeting; and WHEREAS, the Town Board has reviewed and discussed the bid submissions; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, North Country Electric, 838 State Route 86, Gabriels, New York is hereby awarded the bid for a 14KW propane Generak with automatic transfer switch for $________.
