CALL TO ORDER

Supervisor brown called the meeting to order at 5:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The Town Clerk called the roll, noting a quorum present.

HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT - Superintendent DeMars submitted the following written report:

  • Plow/ sanded when needed
  • Finished hauling winter sand
  • Picked up 624k from United that had been brought there for repairs (borrowed Town of Malone’s truck and trailer)
  • Took Cat grader for repairs to Robinsons (borrowed Town of Malone’s truck and trailer)
  • Cut trees as needed around town after heavy snowfall
  • Flooding/ water issues after heavy rains
  • On Dec 14th there should be $237,863.71 deposited in General Fund account, I am requesting that it be transfer to Highway Fund.

    EWR - $53,818.31
    CHIPS - $111,025.00
    Fuel and gas sheets were given to the Town Clerk

NEW BUSINESS

A. RESOLUTION #41 ACCEPT JUSTICE COURT ACCOUNTING - On a motion made by Council Member Jarvis, second by Council Member Brandt, WHEREAS, Town Justice Roger Symonds, in compliance with NYS Comptroller guidelines, requested an audit of his accounts; and WHEREAS, Deputy Town Supervisor Leo Demong inspected said records on December 7, 2023 bank statements and accounts, inclusive, and found them to be in good order; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Franklin Town Board hereby accepts and approves of the accounting records maintained by Town Justice Roger Symonds.

B. RESOLUTION #42 ACCEPT BVFD SLATE OF OFFICERS
On a motion by Supervisor Brown, second by Council Member Brandt, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Franklin Town Board does hereby accept the following persons elected as Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department Officers:
Michael Woodruff, Chief
John Houghton, !st Assistant Chief
Kevin Woodruff, 2nd Assistant Chief
Ray Amell, Captain
Will Martin, 1st Lieutenant
Brain Goetz, 2nd Lieutenant
Tanya Cassavaugh, Secretary
